Zerostat-V Spacer - Assembled Unit

The Zerostat – V Spacer is fitted with a unique, Flow Gate valve, and has been designed to help you obtain full benefit from the medicine released by your inhaler.

This Zerostat – V Spacer is a holding chamber into which the dose of the medication from your inhaler is released for inhalation. It helps to hold the aerosol for a few seconds to make it easier for you to inhale the medication.

The Zerostat – V Spacer also allows the medication to reach the lungs with minimal deposition in the mouth or throat.


How to use
 
Step 1
To assemble your Zerostat –V Spacer push the two halves of the spacer together firmly with the dust cap in place.
Step 2
Remove the protective cap from the mouthpiece of the inhaler. Shake the inhaler well.
Step 3
Place the inhaler firmly into the opposite end of the Zerostat-V Spacer.

Step 4
Holding the inhaler, press down on the canister to release a dose into the Zerostat –V Spacer.
Step 5
Remove the dust cap. Close your lips firmly around the mouthpiece to create a good seal as shown above but do not bite. Inhale deeply through your mouth and hold your breath for 10 seconds, for as long as is comfortable. Breathe out slowly. If a second dose is required, wait  for at lest one minute. Remove the inhaler and shake it well. Then repeat steps 3 to 5.

Care and Cleaning 
It is important to keep the zerostat – V Spacer clean. It should be cleaned regularly, preferably ones a week.
  • Separate the two halves of zerostat – V Spacer by gently pulling them apart. (The inhaler should already have been removed).
  • Rinse both halves in warm water. A mild detergent or a solution of the type used to clean babies feeding bottles may be added to the water. Then rinse thoroughly with clean water.
  • Shake out excess water and allow to air dry. (Do not use heat).
  • Store in the container to keep clean.
Please ensure that the Zerostat – V Spacer is Completely dry before re-using. 

Use your Zerostat – V Spacer as directed by the physician. 

Caution 
Do not push any cleaning cloth or instrument into the mouthpiece as this may damage the Zerostat –V spacer.
